The first Star Coin is always available, while the second and third ones are only available if the ! Switch is activated. However, the secret exit cannot be reached that way. By turning on the ! Switch on the World 3 map and using a Propeller Mushroom, it is possible to beat this level without using the rotating pink block.
At the pink block elevator is a green Warp Pipe leading to another rotating pink block and the pole. There are Propeller Mushrooms, Propeller Blocks, and Ice Blocks available to assist the players, along with Red Blocks which only appear after activating the ! Switch in the World 3 Map. New Super Mario Bros.The normal way to beat this auto-scrolling level is standing on the rotating pink block, while jumping when needed and avoiding Koopa Troopas and Venus Fire Traps.should break some of the blocks with a Bob-omb, wait for the Limited Lift to float under the Star Coin, then fall to it. Star Coin 3: The third Star Coin is at the end of the level, blocked off by several blocks.This makes the second Star Coin fall onto the raft. should pick up the POW Block and activate it once the Limited Lift passes the enemy platform in which the POW Block rests. should jump up to the Star Coin from an enemy. Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is floating high over the Limited Lift, just below the area before the first one with Mini Goombas.At the end of the area, a Warp Pipe leads the player to the area containing the pole. Later, a POW Block can be found and used to defeat the enemies on the Limited Lift. To make the Limited Lift start moving again, the player has to defeat enemies so that there are less than five. Enemies including Goombas, Mini Goombas, Koopa Troopas, Bob-ombs, Piranha Plants, and Big Piranha Plants land on the Limited Lift, causing the numbers on the Limited Lift to increase from 0 up to 5, which causes it to turn red and stop moving. A ? Block containing an Ice Flower is to the left of the exit pipe. The player must enter a Warp Pipe, which leads to a Limited Lift that is used to cross poison. The level starts in a area with Goombas falling from above, and four Invisible Blocks, one containing a Super Mushroom.
